Our mower is Shawn Brandt. He started in mid-2023 and was rehired for 2024. He has a great attitude about taking care of our property! When it is hot or rainy, you may see him or his crew operating early or late in the evening to get it all done.
Should you notice any problems, please let the PL&C Committee know. Kelly Zachgo is the committee chairperson. |
More Additions to Our Neighborhood ParkIn mid-October, the new bike rack was installed, four new metal picnic tables were added to the new pavilion and larger trash cans were placed at the park. Photos courtesy of Kelly Zachgo.
What's all that Construction About at the Park?

Thank You, VolunteersFrom our Park, Landscaping & Commons Committee Chair Kelly Zachgo:
-Many thanks to Robert and Stephanie Williams for their dedicated efforts to clean up the planter areas of our Frisco Ridge entry signs at Vandament. Over several days they removed weeds, trimmed bushes that almost died from the big freeze (might need to replace them!), thinned ornamental grass, sprayed for bagworms, and added lots of mulch. -Thanks also goes to the Griffins for donating bushes they no longer wanted, to James Crouse who assisted with planting them, and Darrell Hall for trimming them! -Earlier in the year, Bill Cook secured solar lights to trees along Frisco Ridge Road after making custom metal brackets. Thank you all for your time and effort!!! We are feeling thankful for the extra help. We still have some small to large tasks to complete if you'd like to help out. Final Stage of Our "Living Fence" Was Installed in 2023The fourth and final stage of our "Living Fence" has been planted. This has been a major project for the HOA. Because of the price tag, each year we have added another section and it is finally complete. The new section included a Canaerti Juniper, a Karl Fuchs Cedar, a Chinese Pistachio and a Lacebark Elm. Additional shrubs and flowers may be added to help fill it out, but the main planting is completed. And, as the trees and shrubs grow and mature, it will be even more beautiful.
Due to the flood plane at the end of our soccer field, the City prohibited the HOA from installing a permanent fence to block off the soccer field from Highway 66. This was the solution that the Park, Landscaping and Commons Committee came up with. And each year, the HOA has invested in professional landscaping and planting of trees and shrubs. We all owe a big thanks to Kelly Zachgo and her committee for coordinating this project over the last four years. Our Pond Fountain is Now Flowing! The fountain is flowing thanks to the Park, Landscaping and Commons Committee. According to Chairperson Kelly Zachgo, the lights are also working and can be seen 7 pm-midnight and 5-7am in the morning.
Kelly also cautions that if you fish in the pond, please keep your fishing lines and lures away from the fountain area. There was a tangled mess attached the underbelly of the fountain. Yuck. After a good cleaning and some repairs, it is as beautiful as ever. |
City Council Letter Re: Commercial Development Near Hwy 66 EntranceWe created a template for a letter campaign to the Yukon City Council regarding the master plan for areas around our neighborhood. Please participate. More Info is under Frisco Ridge Documents/Proposed Commercial Development.
Daffodil Planting, Nov 2021Kelly Zachgo, Chair of the The PL&C Committee invited homeowners to help plant 150 daffodil bulbs at our subdivision entrances. In addition, some asiatic lilies were planted. Thanks to all who helped make Frisco Ridge beautiful next spring. This is the second year daffodils have been planted.
Our Living Fence, Phase 3 Installed July 2021For the third year in a row, we have hired a nursery to do dirt work, create mounds, haul in boulders, plant large trees and shrubs and put in grass to cover the construction. This adds to the beauty of our subdivision, and over time, will make the soccer field more private from people driving down Highway 66. (The City will not allow us to build a permanent fence there as it is a flood zone). These are pictures from Phase III work. This project is overseen by Kelly Zachgo and the PL&C Committee.
A New Look for Our Front Entrance Flower BedThe two trees in our front flower bed haven't looked good for a few years now. They were each a different type of tree and were different shapes and sizes. To make matters worse, they had to be trimmed often in order to keep them from covering the lettering on our sign.
In addition, the shrubs in the middle fared poorly during our harsh winter and were mostly dead. So, two new matching trees were planted that will have a slim profile and smaller shrubs were added. Our entrance now sports a fresh new look and the trees will look great decorated for the holidays. Thank you PL&C Committee for overseeing this project. Work Done Near Creek & Pond, Spring 2021All of the shrubs (they died from the long, extreme cold last winter) were removed from in front of the metal pole fencing by the creek and across the street in front of the pond drainage. Then the PL&C Committee tied screen fencing panels to the front of the fence for safety. They also painted the pole fence and trimmed trees there. Some new shrubs will be planted.
A special thanks to Kelly Zachgo, Lana Beebee, Carla Lanza and John Farris. They planted 90 daffodil bulbs near the Hwy 66 entrances last fall, by our living fence and near the trees on Hwy 66. They are now blooming and we will have more each year.

Repair of our Retention Pond, August 2021By the end of August, all of the lots at Frisco Ridge will be sold and the last homes will be built. That means Taber will be moving out of our subdivision. (The model home was sold earlier this year.)
And that also means that our developer will be done with our subdivision. As part of the wrap-up, the HOA Board requested some final projects be completed including repair of new sprinkler system pipe for the Vandament entrance, structural repair of the front retention pond and dredging the pond of the construction silt that has accumulated. These photos show work that is underway on the pond. A big thanks to the City of Yukon for doing the work necessary to ensure the pond is structurally sound. New Mulch for the Playground, Spring 2021The Park, Landscaping & Commons Committee worked with a local company to clean out and replace the mulch at our playground. It is so much better!
Why Isn't the Fountain Working? The fountain is broken again due to the amount of silt in the pond. Due to the expense of continued repairs, we do not plan to fix it until the pond is cleaned out. The developer has agreed to clean out the pond once all of the construction is done.
