The Process of Developing Our Annual HOA Budget
Early each year (usually in January), a meeting is called for Frisco Ridge homeowners. At this meeting, a new Board of Directors is elected. One of the first priorities of the new Board is to elect officers and develop the annual budget.
Our five committees prepare an estimate for the normal expenses that fall under their area of responsibility and estimate costs for any new projects they are proposing. This information is provided to the HOA Board of Directors for consideration. The board bases its budget on estimated HOA fees for the fiscal year. All of the necessary expenses are put into the budget. And then, the remaining balance can be divvied up to fund as many of the new committee proposals as possible. As our subdivision has grown, we are bringing in more HOA dues, but more of our budget is going into lawn care: mowing, weed control, fertilizer and water.
